RSF Human Rights Unit Signs MoU with Gezira University

The Unit of Human Rights in the Rapid Support Forces, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Peace and Human Rights Institute of Gezira University in Wad Madani, the capital city of Gezira State, in the presence of the deans of the colleges, the Board of Directors of the University and the directors of the departments in the Human Rights Unit.
The MoU will contribute in improving the human rights and international humanitarian law aspects besides the implementation of training programmes in human rights and developmental experiences.
For his part, the executive manager of the RSF Human Rights Unit, Dr. Haseeb Jonathan Koko said that the MoU came in response to the directives of the Vice President of the Sovereignty Council, RSF Commander-in-Chief, 1st Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo within the openness towards the similar institutions, adding that they will work in several aspects aiming at reaching advanced stages.
He affirmed that the human rights issue is an international issue, adding that it is complicated and requires concessional vision to boost the protecting the rights of people in Sudan.
He disclosed that the signature of the MoU comes in the framework of fining out a new approach on protecting the human rights in Sudan in order to reach a sustainable peace.
For his part the Dean of the Peace Studies and Human Rights in Gezira University, Dr, Omer Mohamed Ali, expressed appreciation to the RSF and the joint cooperation between the RSF and the University in human rights aspects, adding that such cooperation is considered a gate for upgrading the capabilities of the University staff and the RSf recruits in all aspects.
