The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, witnessed this evening the conclusion of the Republic’s Shooting Championship in its twenty-fifth session. Which was organized by the Sudanese Shooting Federation at Al Ittihad Square in Nile avenue under the slogan “No to drugs”.
Al-Burhan pledged, during his address to the celebration, to provide support to the Sudanese Shooting Federation, enabling it to compete in international archery forums.
“We look forward to a real and sustainable partnership between the Sudanese archery Federation and the Armed Forces to establish joint fields for shooting and ammunition exercises to support archery sports,” he said.
The head of the Sovereignty Council praised the performances that were presented during the celebration, stressing the importance of archery sport, describing it as never getting old, and religion has strengthened its value and Sudanese customs.
Lieutenant General Al-Burhan, fired the first shot, marking the start of the final competitions in the volleyball competition, and His Excellency handed over prizes and cups to the winning clubs in the tournament.
For his part, the head of the Sudanese archery Federation, Brigadier General Hassan Bashir Al-Jamri, expressed the federation’s thanks and appreciation for the participation of the head of the Sovereignty Council in the celebration, saying that it reflects the state’s interest in archery sports.
He pointed to the great efforts undertaken by the federation to develop archery to enable Sudan to participate in international competitions.
The celebration included honoring a number of competitors in shooting competitions with different rifles and pistols from varying distances, as well as flying saucers.
It is noteworthy that the ceremony was attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports in Khartoum State, the Commander of the Special Forces, the President of the Sudanese Olympic Committee, the President of the Sudanese Shooting Federation, and the ambassadors of Qatar and Kuwait.
